Bittern Primary School is one of 20 schools in the state to be selected for the “Go for your life” Kitchen Garden project with Stephanie Alexander.
Stephanie Alexander’s philosophy is that involving children in growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing good food is the most effective way of introducing children to broader food choices now and for the rest of their lives.
All students in Years 3- 6 spend a session in the vegetable garden each week and a session in the kitchen using the harvest from the garden as a basis to create simple but tasty dishes.
